is organising its second international conference in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

This conference provides an opportunity for conservation practitioners,
managers, researchers of the world, especially from other South East Asian
countries to highlight their biodiversity conservation efforts in relation
to conservation in Borneo.
The conference will be discussing nature conservation on several aspects
of terrestrial and freshwater biodiversity ecosystems. This include research
on ecology, social and applied science, public awareness and management.
The conference is scheduled for two and a half days. There will be two
main concurrent sessions with sub themes;
Session I: "Can Understanding of Biodiversity Change Human Behaviour
for the Conservation?", and
Session II: "Can We Integrate People in Biodiversity Conservation".
Contribution papers will be presented in this sessions.

The Organiser welcomes papers contribution from any related individuals
or institution. Presentation will be accepted on the basis of abstract
of 500-600 words and should be submitted before September 2003 either
by faxing or online submission form or email.
Selected papers* from South East Asian authors may get sponsorship from
the Organiser (BBEC-JICA) to come to Kota Kinabalu to present their paper.
Authors will be notified of the selection of their contribution by 25th
September 2003. Authors whose abstract have been accepted will receive
further instruction for the preparation of their final paper which is
due on 15 January 2004.
